The Center for Nuclear Security Support participated in the IAEA International Meeting in Austria.
The Center for Nuclear Security Support at UNWE participated in the international meeting of the IAEA Collaborating Centres, held at the laboratory in Seibersdorf, Austria, from April 23–25, 2025.
The Center was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Spasov, Director of the Center and faculty member in the Department of National and Regional Security, and Georgi Tasev, a PhD student in the same department and team member of the Center. In their presentation, they highlighted the Center’s experience as an IAEA partner in the field of nuclear security; the outcomes of the ten-year Master’s program in Nuclear Security; participation in international projects such as PHOENIX by the U.S. Department of State; and best practices in collaboration with leading institutions and partner networks.
Opportunities for future collaborative activities were also discussed, including hosting events at UNWE related to nuclear security, education, and regional cooperation.
Participation in the meeting represents further recognition of UNWE’s high academic and expert potential in the fields of education, applied research, and international cooperation in nuclear security.
